Why is this important?
All enterprise data systems can suffer from data quality problems, i.e. the well-known GIGO problem (Garbage In Garbage Out). Successfully migrating data – or ingesting new unstructured data – from one system to another often requires time consuming, expensive, error prone, manual data cleansing and normalization. Once loaded into Maximo, data problems may not be fixable, except at huge expense using specialized consulting services and custom software. Aries provides a better way.
Implementing Maximo? Load the data into Aries first. Cleanse the data in Aries. Then allow Aries to push the ready-for-Maximo data into Maximo.
Technical Note: the Aries database is in 3NF (Third Normal Form) or better, allowing all data & transactional errors to be fixed directly within Aries.
